Legacy of Rescue: A Daughter's Tribute is an intergenerational memoir of Marta's father and the Hungarian Commanding Officer who saved him and over 100 other Hungarian Jewish men in a forced labor battalion. Due to the testimony of Marta's father, Zoltán Kubinyi was posthumously honored as a Righteous Gentile.

The story of rescue came full circle in 2011 when Marta and her brother took their children back to Hungary to meet Kubinyi’s family including his teenage great grandchildren.
Marta wrote Legacy of Rescue: A Daughter's Tribute in honor of what would have been her father's 100th birthday. He passed away in 2000 at nearly 89 years of age, sharing boundless compassion and joy of life with all who knew him.

​Marta once asked her father, "Why do you think you survived?" Without a moment's hesitation he answered, "So that I could have a daughter like you who would tell what happened." It has been an honor to do so, Dad.
​
With testimony and reflections by three generations of Marta's family, Legacy of Rescue has served as a catalyst for engaging discussions about historical events, family history, ethical decision making, and finding one's own courage in everyday life to do the right thing.
